For Companies We are currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join a Central London Local Authority, supporting the Responsive Repairs team. This role involves a broad mix of building surveying duties including inspections, technical advice, and contractor supervision across occupied housing stock.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections in residents’ homes and on-site with contractors
- Diagnose and manage issues including excessive damp, structural faults, party wall matters, and general building fabric concerns
- Liaise with residents and contractors to ensure high-quality and timely resolution of works
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Provide professional advice on repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works
Requirements:
- Minimum HNC in Building Surveying (or equivalent construction qualification)
- Previous experience in responsive repairs, local authority or housing environments
- Strong knowledge of building construction and pathology
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to residents, contractors, and internal teams
