Our client, who is part of a Multi-National organisation which offers Freight Forwarding & Logistics solutions, with a focus on international shipping and intermodal services, is looking to recruit an Sea Freight Import/Export Operator to be based at office in Colchester, Essex.
On Offer:
- Competitive salary based on skills and experience
- WFH Flexibility – 2 days working from home, 3 days in the office
- Working hours 9am -5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime available
- 25 Days holiday plus bank holidays
- Non contractual bonus scheme
Main Purpose of the Role:
- Reporting to the Sea Freight & Customs Supervisor, the role focuses on ocean freight forwarding, import and export as well as UK customs processes. To increase profit and job numbers focusing on the ocean freight services and UK customs clearances.
- Working closely with the team to arrange and monitor both export and import shipments by sea services, you will liaise with suppliers and partners to deliver a high level of service to our clients, so their expectations are met and where possible exceeded.
Duties And Responsibilities of the Sea Freight Import / Export Operator:
- Maintain and develop relationships with clients.
- To meet deadlines/requirements as per client requests.
- Monitor supplier performance.
- Good file management and attention to detail.
- Prepare quotations in accordance with client’s request.
- Assisting colleagues during staff absences / holidays including imports/exports
- Encourage and implement “Best Practice” across the department.
- Develop and maintain a commercial and “can do” attitude with all within the department and company.
To Be Considered:
- Proven experience in Imports or Exports with Ocean Freight Forwarding
- An understanding of transport and legislative controls
- Good mathematical skills
- To be able to adapt, embrace and implement new IT systems and IT innovations as required.
