Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – FMCG Manufacturing

Gillingham, Kent | £50,000 – £52,000 per annum

Monday-Friday 08:30am-17:30pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly successful FMCG manufacturer in Gillingham, Kent. This role is perfect for an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with a background in manufacturing maintenance, looking to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance
2. Diagnose and resolve faults on packaging machinery, PLC-controlled systems, and sealing equipment
3. Utilise CMMS and handheld technology to log maintenance activities and track asset performance
4. Work alongside the maintenance planning team to ensure servicing schedules are completed on time
5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards across all maintenance activities
6. Provide insights and feedback to enhance maintenance processes and asset management strategies
7. Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and improvement projects
8. Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment upgrades

What We’re Looking For:

1. Proven experience as an Engineer in an FMCG environment
2. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications
3. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing setting
4. Experience working with automated production equipment
5. Familiarity with CMMS systems
