Job Description
Our client is a very successful distributor of CNC woodworking machinery and due to their continued business growth Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.
The successful candidate will operate as a ‘home based’ field engineer responsible for machine installation, service and repair activities throughout the UK.
Our client offers an excellent package including overtime with ‘door to door’ pay, company vehicle + credit card, fuel card, phone, and laptop.
The Role:
Reporting to the service manager, you will be responsible for effective delivery of professional electrical maintenance, service, and repair of CNC woodworking machinery.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Electrical installations, machine fault finding, and repair
- Motors, servos, 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential)
- Contactors, sensors, relays, switches, etc.
- Control panels and wiring
- PLC fault finding and repair
- Machine installation and commissioning
- Mechanical maintenance and repair, including removal and replacement of broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws
Candidate:
You will be a multiskilled engineer ideally with an electrical bias and previous experience in a field service engineer position.
You will have experience in the maintenance, service, and repair of automated/semi-automated machinery.
Applicants will be electrically qualified (e.g., NVQ3, HNC in electrical engineering, or 17th/18th edition certification).
You will demonstrate good customer service and communication skills and have a friendly disposition.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 40 hours + OT, door to door pay.
Only occasional nights away from home.
