Location: Simonstone

Schedule: Mon – Thurs 22:00 – 7:30

Pay: £23.46 p/h

The Role

Working as part of the Maintenance Team, as one of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineers (MME), you will be responsible for maintaining high quality mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance to machinery and around the site. The role demands MME’s to fully understand production practice and operations to successfully support these departments and undertake various planned maintenance tasks, projects, and new installations in order to achieve a high level of service delivery.

Main Responsibilities

1. Fault finding during production.
2. Performing planned and predictive maintenance.
3. Assessing need of spare parts.
4. Undertake effective planning and prioritisation of workload wherever necessary.
5. Ensure that resources are used to optimum effect.
6. Understand and operate in line with relevant legislation, Company policy and Company procedures.
7. Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business.
8. Maintain the required standards of housekeeping.
9. Support other teams and functions as required by the business.
10. Undertake self-development activities as required by the business.
11. Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company.
12. Liaise with Coordinator to establish requirements.
13. Conform to health and safety procedures and policies.
14. Contribute to continuing improvement of the factory equipment and maintenance.
15. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
16. Work to lean theory.
17. Observe and practice the 5S principles.
18. Use computer equipment for data purposes.

The Candidate

1. Previous experience of working in a similar environment with similar role responsibilities.
2. A good working knowledge and understanding of factory processes and technology.
3. Previous experience of working towards improving and maintaining quality standards.
4. Knowledge of PLC AC drives and servo drives.
5. Familiar with all types of Factory equipment including CNC machines, Conventional machines, and associated plant.
6. Familiar with planned and preventive maintenance.
7. Knowledge of robots would be advantageous.
8. Multi-skilled in basic electrical practices.
9. Foundry experience is desirable.
10. Must be a time-served engineer (or have an equivalent qualification).
11. UK Driving licence is essential.
12. Demonstrates a flexible attitude towards work and is able to respond to business priorities appropriately.
13. Strong work ethic, must want to do tasks and understand their value.
14. Reliable, with good timekeeping and honesty, and able to work unsupervised.
15. Adaptable over a broad range of work.
16. Motivated to take on new areas of work and learn new skills.
17. Attention to detail, data accuracy, and a ‘right first time’ approach.
18. Willingness to embrace change and continuous improvement.
19. Flexible when required.
20. Thrive and enjoy working as a team.
