This is an exciting opportunity to join us in Middlesbrough as we create our first dedicated Adult LADO role in response to increasing activity.
As the LADO you will take the lead on managing concerns raised about People in a Position of Trust (PIPoT) working with adults with care and support needs.
The role will involve receiving incoming referrals, gathering relevant information, and chairing LADO panels. As the adult LADO you will have the opportunity to develop the role, combining the management of concerns with training, support and awareness raising. You will also be responsible for the monitoring and review of our LADO policy.
The post holder will also have additional responsibilities to support the wider adult safeguarding work and you will also represent the local authority in Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) meetings and on occasions chair adult safeguarding meetings.

As a service, we are also committed to supporting our staff and providing a healthy work culture. Staff have access to regular supervisions as well as other staff support forums.
You will have the opportunity to work from home as well as a base at the newly renovated Council building, Fountain Court. New staff joining Middlesbrough Council can expect a warm welcome from the team, with the opportunity to work collaboratively with other adult social care teams within the office setting.
