This is a remarkable opportunity to play a key part in a rapidly expanding and unique arts organization, the Institute of Art and Ideas (IAI).

Described by the Guardian as “the return to big thinking” and by Total Politics as “Europe’s Answer to TED”, the IAI puts on events throughout the year, including HowTheLightGetsIn – the world’s largest philosophy and music festival now taking place twice a year in Hay-on-Wye and London. The IAI is also responsible for IAI.TV, bringing big ideas to a global audience with debates and talks featuring the world’s leading thinkers; IAI News, our online ideas magazine; and our weekly podcast, Philosophy for Our Times.

We are recruiting a Marketing & PR Executive to join our team to drive the marketing and media activities of HowTheLightGetsIn Festival and the Institute of Art and Ideas.

This role will ensure that the full breadth of our programming receives high quality publicity and media exposure. You will have input into the overall media strategy of the organization and be responsible for planning and delivering creative campaigns plus the music line up for HowTheLightGetsIn festivals.

The ideal candidate would have experience in a fast paced marketing environment, be accustomed to building relationships with journalists and the media, have the ability to devise and sell original stories, have excellent copy writing skills, a good knowledge of current affairs and the state of the media, an appreciation of our content, and the drive to succeed. The role will initially be focused on HowTheLightGetsIn festival but there is the scope for it to progress and develop to cover the wider activities of the Institute of Art and Ideas, including writing for our online magazine IAI News.

As the Institute of Art and Ideas is focused on big and contemporary ideas, you will need to be comfortable with the breadth and depth of our content. Therefore an excellent academic record is essential with at least a 2.1 degree from a top university.

At TVF Media, we are focused on supporting your career progression and wellbeing. In joining our team, you will also become eligible for our range of benefits, including our pension scheme, private healthcare insurance cashback scheme, hybrid working, Cycle to Work, frequent company socials and biannual parties, gym and HowTheLightGetsIn festival ticket discounts, and more!

We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace, and actively support and encourage people from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and skill sets to join us and help shape what we do.
