My client is a residential developer who specializes in luxury high-end traditional build houses and apartments. They are looking to expand their team with the addition of a Buyer to support the current commercial team for their prestigious developments both future and present within the Northern Home Counties Region.
This is an office-based position where you will report to the Commercial Manager and work closely with the procurement team on their current and new residential developments of new build homes.
As a Buyer, you will be procuring materials to meet the build programme of the project. Your duties will include:
- Procuring brickwork, carpentry, and sanitary materials
- Hiring plant e.g. cabins, forklifts, fencing, cranes, etc.
- Compiling monthly reports on budgeting control for all materials
- Resolving supplier disputes
- Supporting the estimating team with pre-tender quotations and resolving material specification issues
Experience Required:
- At least 3-5 years of procurement experience with a residential property developer
- Experience with procuring materials for new build developments
- Some knowledge of construction techniques
- Comprehension of building, environmental, and disability standards
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Proven track record with stable UK employment and exposure to residential construction with a recognized developer or company
