This position sits within a number of services that specialise in working with people who live with dementia. The work is predominantly within an agreed day support setting; however there is an expectation that staff will work across a number of sites to meet the needs of the business.

This roles works with paying customers who have memory concerns and/or dementia.

Along with other team members be responsible for getting to know each of our customers individually and provide them with a range of therapeutic opportunities to engage with activities that are meaningful to them.

Main Responsibilities

  • To be a Key Worker for a number of customers building professional relationships with them.

  • Under the direction of the Senior to deliver the agreed support plan and maintain legal records pertaining to the application of the plan.

  • To work in partnership with customers encouraging independence, choice, participation and motivation, adhering at all times to the values of the individual and the agreed support plan.

  • To be directly involved in the delivery of agreed therapeutic activities to customers.

Duties

  • Achieve the level of computer competency as required for the role.

  • Participate in and contribute to the organisation’s activities, events and meetings.

  • Undertake other duties which may be required by the organisation that are consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the role.

Training

The organisation is committed to support continuous professional development (CPD). There is an expectation that the post holder will complete mandatory and role specific training within the probationary period and maintain a level of competence throughout their employment with us. Training includes Safeguarding, GDPR and Health and Safety. This list is not exhaustive.

  • This role requires an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience of working either in a care/support setting or within individuals own home.

  • To have good communication skills, written, verbal and non-verbal.

  • To demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision and values of the organisation.

  • To demonstrate professionalism, whilst having a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
