Job Title : Curriculum Manager in Engineering

Location: Highbury Campus, Portsmouth (Main Campus but travel across all campuses required)

Salary: £29,074.42 – £42,579.53 FTE + £4,000 allowance

Job Type: 35 Hours per week, 52 Weeks per year, Full-Time, Permanent (850 teaching hours with 288 hours remission)

About The Role:
The Curriculum Manager for Engineering will lead the development and management of courses across all our Campuses. Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, assessing teaching practices, and implementing strategies to improve teaching quality, student outcomes, and overall success. This includes incorporating the latest curriculum developments, technologies, and research. Additionally, you will collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure the courses remain relevant to students’ career pathways.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of academic staff providing guidance, support and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement in curriculum delivery.
  • Coordinate team efforts to develop and implement student support strategies.
  • Engage with student feedback mechanisms to gather insights for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the college to ensure curriculum alignment with regulatory standards and industry requirements.
  • Integrate current Engineering practices, technologies and research into the curriculum.
  • Manage resources effectively to support curriculum development and delivery.
  • Maintain program accreditation and compliance with educational standards.

The Candidate:

  • Relevant degree and/or experience of delivering Engineering qualifications.
  • Experience in curriculum development, quality improvement and management in an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to enhancing students’ learning and success.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking mindset.
