This is a new senior, standalone role, reporting directly to the CEO and COO. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and driven individual who brings a wealth of trading experience gleaned over several years in a similar position.
The successful candidate will be able to integrate. collaborate and offer support to other facets of the company by driving sales, promoting our brand, enhancing our reputation, and extending our customer base with airlines, lessors, MROs, and brokers.
The Business Development Manager (Engines) will be at the forefront of managing our existing inventory of stock but will also shape the decisions we make for future acquisitions.
The Business Development Manager (Engines) will be responsible for managing the project lifecycle for the purchase and sale of engines and other key components, and for making a significant contribution to the companyβs revenue and gross profit targets.
To meet these objectives, the successful candidate will identify value in available engines and engine parts, build solid business cases around them, and execute and manage the related projects.
Identification and cultivation of customers will be a vital role in this position.
Our current stock consists of CF34-8/10E, AE3007 & PW100 engines and material obtained from the large number of aircraft teardowns completed. The ideal candidate should preferably have experience of some of these platforms and be able to use their technical expertise, contacts, and industry wide knowledge to monetise and enhance these assets, either through disassembly or complete engine build and resale.
You will be instrumental in driving acquisition decisions in alignment with the strategic goals of the company, which will include acquiring CF34-8/10E, Trent, CF6-80 & PW100 engines & material. You will also provide a value contribution to airframe asset appraisals to support our ongoing aircraft teardown programme.
Responsibilities
- Generate new opportunities to grow revenue and profit via purchase and sale of engines, engine material, and engine and component repair management.
- Maintain and grow the existing customer base.
- Manage the team marketing and selling engine inventory to current and prospective customers.
- Identify purchase and sale opportunities by monitoring changing trends, economic indicators, competitors, supply and demand.
- Maintain professional, technical and industry knowledge by reviewing professional or industry specific publications, establishing personal networks and attending annual tradeshows and conferences.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships and networks to provide the highest level of service and uncover new growth opportunities.
- Travel to customer locations as required.
Experience, knowledge and skills required
- Extensive experience in engine parts and whole engine trading
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeded gross profit targets
- Experience in commercial aftermarket powerplant markets and vast industry knowledge required
- Highly organised, while demonstrating attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Demonstrates strong prospecting, closing and prompt follow-up skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of sales forecasting and data modelling
- Cultivates and maintains strong business relationships
- Proficient in Microsoft programs including Excel
