Your New Role
This position offers the chance to work in a highly technical, hands‑on setting where you\’ll take ownership of one‑off and short‑run components from set‑up through to final inspection. You\’ll operate within a small, fast‑moving team that mirrors the mindset of an elite machine shop – delivering complex parts right first time under demanding lead times.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for tool set‑up, 5‑axis machining, in‑process verification, and final inspection
- Developing workholding and proving out set‑ups.
- Achieving and maintaining tolerances of ≤0.05 mm across titanium, aluminium, stainless steel, and nickel alloys
- Selecting and optimising tooling, feeds, and speeds to balance quality, cycle time, and tool life
- Measuring and recording dimensions using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, FARO arm, and gauges in line with AS9100 requirements
- Working closely with AM, programming, and QA teams to ensure right‑first‑time delivery
What you need to succeed:
- 2-3 years\’ experience setting and operating 5‑axis CNC milling centres
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling selection
- Confident working under pressure with minimal supervision
- Clear communicator with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset
- Genuine interest in producing complex, high‑performance components
