Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is the leading maritime charity for youth development and lifelong learning. An exciting, inclusive and forward looking charity, with a clear vision and strategy, we are committed to developing young people through maritime-centred training and activity, alongside delivering learning and career development for professionals across the sector. Every week, throughout the year, our thousands of volunteers inspire young people across the UK, to achieve their potential through challenge and nautical adventure, while we also enable current and future seafarers and maritime professionals, to realise their own potential through learning and self-development. After the successful tenure of our current Chief Executive, we are looking for an inspirational and inclusive leader to succeed him – one who is passionate about our mission and its capacity to transform the lives of young people and seafarers. Achieving our aims around our offer and our people, will require ambition and broad, strategic leadership capability. Partnering with the Board on the delivery of our current and future strategy, our incoming Chief Executive will lead an experienced and passionate team, on this vital next stage of our development, as well as ensure a positive, dynamic and inclusive culture engagement with our many volunteers, stakeholders, and supporters. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and delivery of strategic initiatives. Build and sustain trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Engage with key relationships, including the Royal Navy, to achieve organizational objectives. Create high performing, safe and secure cultural environments. Advance inclusive practices and promote diversity. Qualifications: Leadership experience in a complex, scaled, federated or multi-faceted organization. Proven track record in operational leadership and relationship building. Strong communication skills with high integrity and diplomatic skills. A deep commitment to our vision, mission, and values. MSSC positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates from all backgrounds. Equity, diversity, and inclusion really matters to us, so we can best serve our beneficiaries from every community. We work to ensure a fair and consistent recruitment process and aim to be a charity where diversity of experience, identity and skills are valued and welcomed. MSSC is an equal opportunities employer. Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to MSSC on this appointment.
