Heating Engineer – District & Communal Systems

Location: London & Surrounding Areas
Salary: £34,400 – £38,000 per annum (DOE) + Overtime + Benefits
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (occasional on-call shifts)

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain and repair communal and district heating systems.
2. Install and upgrade heating components for improved efficiency.
3. Ensure compliance with industry safety regulations.
4. Provide clear, professional service to clients and residents.
5. Accurately document work using company systems.
6. Work collaboratively with contractors and internal teams.
7. Troubleshoot faults and recommend long-term solutions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

1. NVQ Level 2 or above in plumbing, heating, mechanical services, or HVAC.
2. Unvented Hot Water Certification is beneficial.
3. ACS Gas qualifications are an advantage.

Experience & Skills:

1. At least five years of experience in heating maintenance and repair.
2. Strong knowledge of district and communal heating systems.
3. Ability to read technical schematics and system designs.
4. Experience in commercial and multi-occupancy heating solutions.
5. Problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
6. Experience with Heat Interface Units (HIUs) is beneficial.
