About the role

Our IBA Credit Controller is responsible for managing the credit control processes within an insurance broking environment. The role focuses on ensuring the timely collection of debts from clients, reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records.

This position requires a strong understanding of insurance broking accounts and the ability to maintain effective relationships with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders.

What you’ll get up to:

  • Manage client debt and ensure that all payments are received timely and are allocated appropriately.
  • Clients are proactively contacted in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure records are kept up to date and maintained.
  • Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders and host regular meetings on current debt levels.
  • Process any client return premiums.
  • Prepare and provide regular MI for senior management to review.
  • Assist in the implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Timely identification of business risks.
  • Escalation of unpaid invoices in line with company policies and procedures.

About you:

  • Previous experience in credit control working for a broker or insurance company.
  • Attention to detail particularly to reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of client money rules (CASS 5).
  • Experience using Excel, particularly with VLOOKUP/Pivot Tables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge particularly with banking and accounting systems (Xero).
  • Strong problem-solving skills particularly with complex clients.
  • Superb interpersonal and customer service skills to provide exceptional results.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a focus on achieving targets.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
