Senior Database Engineer – Contract – UK Remote
This initial 12 month contract , offering a competitive day rate of £589 Inside IR35 , provides the flexibility of remote working within the UK , allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.
The Role:
- To provide effective and proactive database support & maintenance of many of the bank’s critical production services, which spans across multiple database technologies (predominately Oracle & SQL Server).
- Database lifecycle support (provisioning / deletion / patching / upgrading / migrating)
- Back-up and Recovery
- Monitoring and Alerting
- Change and Incident Management
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
- Tuning and Optimisation
- Disaster Recovery
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong understanding and experience of database administration (across Oracle and SQL Server ) in a Production setting.
- An ability to troubleshoot Production issues in an analytical manner and make recommendations to resolve issues and/or deliver enhancements.
- Experience of undertaking database builds, patching, migrations and upgrades.
- Experience of High Availability and Disaster Recovery Methods including setup, troubleshooting and support – Oracle RAC , Oracle Restart, ASM, Oracle Data Guard & SQL Server Always on High Availability.
