Wing Facilitator – Prisons Permanent Full time Humberside/Hull £27,500 + Benefits To provide one-to-one and group work support for participants to deliver a range of information, guidance and training that contributes to participants journey and progression into employment, training, education, and a life free from crime. Key Responsibilities: To engage with and case manage participants to provide advocacy, mentoring, advice andguidance and training interventions that meet the needs of individual participants andsupport the achievement of skills and progression towards education training and sustained employment. Establish and deliver both group and one-to-one activities as part of participant interventions, including initial assessments and action plans. Engage with community, voluntary sector and mainstream ETE support and services toensure that participants are given the support they need to overcome barriers and progress.Increase community links and resilience so that participants can progress to a life free fromcrime. Contribute to making contact and establishing relationships with new participants and assistthem to understand the benefits and the support activities and interventions that are on offer. Deliver services, both within areas of the community and voluntary sector venues, toensure that the service is available across a wider area. Deliver both group and one-to-one intervention(s) following induction and assessment: Identify individual learning needs and create action plans. Plan training and other interventions for each participant. Develop interaction with participants and establish a rapport and supportiverelationship. Enable participants to access and use information. Record interventions and activities and progression on the CRM system andcoordinate further activity with customers. Provide support for the participant to implement future courses of action. Deliver further interventions with participants as required, assisting them to decide onoptions for meeting their needs and provide support for participants in planning acourse of action. Prepare and develop resources to support learning. Facilitate learning in groups to improve communication and social interaction and toimprove employability and progression through presentations and activities. Job-match and job-broker into employment opportunities. Seek ways to continuously improve the service and own performance and report tomanagers on this. Networking, marketing and promotion of the service to partner organisations and participants. Update MI (CRM) systems as required. Carry out associated administration work, including report-writing, collection, and analysis of management information, evaluation of service delivery and the auditing and review ofrecords. Participate in other activities that support the work of the group. Customers include: Offenders on licence following release from custody, and those on community sentences Probation Service (Offender Managers / responsible officers) Community and voluntary sector organisations Employers Specialist providers Colleagues within the Growth Company. There are no line management or budget responsibilities directly associated with this role. Essential Skills: Information Advice and Guidance and / or teaching qualifications, (or equivalent), desired, butexperience working intensively with individuals and supporting their progression mostimportant. Key Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work in a target-driven environment, with a focus on the successful achievement ofoutcomes for participants. High level guidance skills, with the ability to deliver one-to-one and group sessions to at leastGrade 2 standard. Experience: Working with offenders, or those disaffected and marginalised from mainstream services, in training, guidance, advice and counselling environments. Knowledge: Knowledge regarding the issues affecting the rehabilitation of offenders, and desistance theory. Knowledge of National Probation Services or HM Prison environments and/or training, education and employment opportunities locally and nationally, and of training and guidance Personal Style: A warm, approachable empathetic style and the ability to establish a rapport and build relationships with participants that supports their progression to education, training and employment and facilitates desistance from crime.
