Job Description
We are recruiting for a Plant PLC & Commissioning Engineer for our Mobile Water Treatment facility in Peterborough. We are seeking an experienced specialist to ensure the optimal operation of control systems within our mobile water units and plant-based equipment. This role will also take the lead in commissioning and final testing of newly constructed mobile water assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplify and promote EHS standards and culture within the Peterborough facility
- Maintain strict adherence to quality standards
- Perform PLC modifications and troubleshooting in the regeneration plant, on-site systems, and mobile water treatment equipment
- Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS)
- Commission new and refurbished equipment
- Collaborate with Assembly, Engineering, and Plant Manager to identify and resolve design-related issues
- Ensure rigorous implementation of changes in MOC and documentation
- Optimize electrical consumption and plant efficiency to maximize cost savings
- Provide electrical and PLC support to Plant and Assembly teams
- Maintain electrical control systems in containers, trailers, and skids
- Implement CE upgrades to existing equipment as per business requirements
- Contribute to plant modification and improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work process integrity
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings
- Supervise on-site contractors when required
- Occasional travel to customer sites
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- Extensive experience in industrial electrical work
- Background in industrial, assembly, or operational roles
- Demonstrated commitment to EHS and quality standards
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in the water treatment industry
- Proficiency with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
- NVQ3 in electrical-based units
- City And Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent
- CAD software experience
- Project management experience
