Our client, a leading global manufacturer, supplying high-quality products to retail and foodservice across Europe, is currently seeking a multi-skilled Engineering Technician to join an ever-growing team and provide expert engineering support at their manufacturing site.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for executing the maintenance plan safely and effectively, ensuring that all site machinery operates at optimal levels to meet productivity, quality, and service targets. This role requires strong mechanical engineering skills and experience working with Ammonia Plants, Industrial Freezers, Boiler Systems, and Automated Food Manufacturing Equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.
• Collaborate with operations to support key business objectives.
• Provide hands-on engineering support in a GMP food manufacturing environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as centre-lining, 5S, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and condition monitoring, reporting issues and identifying follow-up actions.
• Maintain and monitor process equipment, including ammonia refrigeration systems, steam boilers, and effluent treatment plants.
• Support the CMMS system by logging work orders and updating maintenance records.
• Undertake project work related to site improvements, including installations, PUWER assessments, PM reviews, and critical spares analysis.

Skills & Experience Required

• Recognised Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience working with steam boilers, ammonia refrigeration, industrial freezers, conveyors, mixers, packaging equipment, and robotic automation.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of risk assessment processes.
• IT literate, with familiarity in Outlook, CMMS systems, Word, and Excel.
• Flexibility to cover shifts, holidays, and project secondments when required.
