Mechanical Project Engineer Cambridge

Our client, a globally renowned materials company based in Cambridge, is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead a variety of projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will be pivotal in managing resources, ensuring effective project delivery, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Mechanical Project Engineer Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage multiple projects within a manufacturing setting, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
2. Oversee internal and external resources to drive project success.
3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders through effective communication and leadership.
4. Plan, manage, and control key project deliverables to ensure smooth execution.
5. Take an active role in the technical aspects of projects including:

1. Translating concepts into detailed specifications for a range of manufacturing equipment.
2. Creating and maintaining mechanical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
3. Conducting tender analysis and validation, design and construction review, commissioning, and handover.

Mechanical Project Engineer Requirements

1. A recognised Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
2. Proven project engineering experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
3. Strong background in the design and specification of industrial chemical processes or similar applications.
4. Proficiency in AUTOCAD or Inventor CAD software.
5. Experience with ATEX regulations and commissioning (advantageous).
6. Familiarity with industry-standard risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP and FMEA.
