Test and React is a top-tier strategic priority at Topshop, driving innovation and excellence in line with our company\’s core initiatives. This is an opportunity to join the Topshop Test and React team working closely with key stakeholders across the commercial function. The team will aid the expansion of Test and React by engaging and working directly with new and established suppliers. It is the fastest pace and most reactive area of ASOS!
We are looking for a creative and dynamic designer to get new suppliers up to speed with our shortest lead time process. You will confidently feedback to key stakeholders, Senior Directors, and management about emerging trends and concepts that resonate with the Topshop customer.
What you\’ll be doing
- On a weekly cycle, you will be looking at social media, catwalks, aspirational brands, and competitors to identify the most important trends and missed opportunities to test for the Topshop customer. You will collate ideas and present them to key stakeholders and Senior Director level. You will use strong influencing skills to demonstrate why these are the must-have pieces for our audience, whilst considering commerciality.
- You will be instrumental in ensuring Topshop is first to market with products most relevant to moments that resonate with our customer, whether these are mini viral moments on socials or culture-shifting celebrity moments. We are looking for someone with a relentless hunger for newness and trends!
- With the buying team, you will create strong supplier relationships to integrate the T & R process, ensuring suppliers are developing/buying stocks on the most relevant fabric bases & trims, ensuring Topshop quality standards are met and everything possible is done to create right first-time samples to protect the lead time.
- Our candidate must have strong organisational and time planning skills, and be flexible in their design handwriting and skills. You will potentially be designing across multiple product categories with different supply bases.
- You will work with your team to ensure the storytelling message of the trends you have identified is carried through to production, working closely with studio stakeholders to ensure the look and styling demonstrates the product in the context familiar to our customer.
- Working with your team and tech to ensure product production is done correctly to a BAU standard at pace.
- This is an exciting opportunity with high exposure to other functions and the SLT as well as new and emerging suppliers.
