Overall Purpose of The Job
The Global Graduate Development Programme (GGDP) is an intensive 2 year programme designed to introduce bright, ambitious and self-motivated individuals to the operational, commercial and functional areas of the V.Group businesses. The development programme will provide ‘four stretch assignments of six months each’ in the form of interesting and varied work activities and projects, as well as opportunities to learn and be part of our team in various global locations.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Complete international assignments in locations such as the UK, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Monaco, Denmark, Singapore and the Philippines to provide on-the-job learning and to fully immerse you in the world of shipping.
- Gain exposure to the breadth of V.Group as an organisation by spending time in our key business areas including ship management, marine services and corporate functions.
- Have the opportunity to develop your personal and leadership skills to allow you to fulfil your potential in the workplace.
- Spend time on site e.g. vessels, dry docks, shipyards, etc. to obtain ‘first-hand experience’ and understanding of our technical and crew operations.
- Be given personal development opportunities to help you grow and develop as an individual as well as guidance and support to map out your career preferences and pathways.
At the end of the two-year programme you will have the opportunity to move into a permanent role within the business.

- To join this exciting programme, we’re looking for recent graduates with a strong academic background which means a Bachelor’s degree or higher (minimum 2:1 Degree classification) in a subject relevant to the maritime services sector.
- We are interested to hear from candidates from disciplines that connect to and impact on global ship management and marine services such as Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Shipping and Transport Logistics, Shipping Finance and Management and Maritime Supply Chain.
- You should also be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and have the ability to multitask, prioritise, and work in a fast-paced environment. A natural desire to learn, experience new challenges, work with different cultures and willingness to relocate and work globally is essential.
