About The Team We Are Recruiting To

The successful candidate will lead the Accounts Payable team which is part of Procurement Services. We are at the heart of the ongoing economic and social development of the city and are involved with facilitating payments and developing processes for suppliers and internal departments involved in the Godiva Festival and City Centre South developments. The team is also integral to the improvement of services for Adult’s and Children’s Social Care, Public Health and Homelessness strategies.

Accounts Payable are proud to have played a key part in accelerating payments to support vulnerable suppliers and distribute grants to local businesses and residents.

What is the job role?

The Accounts Payable Manager will supervise and lead the Accounts Payable team to ensure the effective completion of all Accounts Payable work within procedural and audit guidelines, ensuring the provision of a quality service to the public and both internal and external customers. The Accounts Payable Manager will manage the collection of external income for Procurement Services, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and regularly reviewed – monitoring income against targets set. The role of the Accounts Payable Manager also includes the efficient discharge of the daily pay run processes and liaising with the recovery audit to recover potential duplicate payments, unallocated credits and VAT overpayments.
