Are you passionate about education and making a positive impact in people's lives? We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Learning Facilitator to join our prison education programme. In this role, you'll support both learners and educators, helping to deliver engaging educational activities and enrichment sessions that foster personal development and build essential skills.

As a Learning Facilitator, you will work one-on-one and in groups with learners, assisting them in consolidating their understanding and motivating them to pursue educational and personal growth. You'll also play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment that encourages participation and helps reduce reoffending through education.

Our 15 Learning Facilitators work a shift pattern of 3 x 12 hour days 8am-8pm Monday - Friday with some flexibility to cover Saturday between the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in delivering educational activities that support both academic and personal skill development.
  • Provide individual and group support to help learners engage with course materials and improve self-confidence.
  • Help maintain a positive and effective learning environment.
  • Monitor and record learner attendance and progress.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff, prison officers, and other stakeholders to meet learners' educational needs.
Requirements:
  • A Level 3 teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a teaching assistant role or similar is advantageous.
  • Experience in prison education or adult learning is an asset.
