NPD Assistant

NPD Assistant Our client is a global market leader of Fresh and Frozen produce, due to their increasing demand, growth, and development they are seeking to employ an NPD Assistant for their site in Kings Lynn/Boston sites. This will be initially for a 3-month period, however, could progress into a longer period. Hours will be Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm Objectives of Role: To assist the NPD Manager to develop new products for our client that ensures that the company are the first choice for frozen vegetables and convenience in all sectors. The role requires the development of the company’s product range within all sectors whilst also monitoring the quality of the existing product range to ensure that the company’s products continue to benchmark ahead against the competition. There is the expectation this role will work with commercial & technical colleagues when needed to drive the growth across all the company’s sectors. Key duties will include: General kitchen duties – Cleaning, Washing Up, General Housekeeping. Sample making by following recipes. Packing Samples as required. Booking Sample Transport as required. Sending Samples to Customers as requested. Preparation of Laboratory samples as required. Maintaining accurate stock lists of NPD samples and Ingredients Maintaining stocks of NPD ingredients within the NPD Kitchen Arranging Taste Panels for Customers and Employees as required Arranging and recording regular Benchmarking panels Generation and Verification of Cooking instructions Any other ad hoc duties as required. Requirements for the role. A desire to learn new skills and succeed. Needs to be a team player. Keen interest in food and cooking Good IT Skills i.e., excel and word. Knowledge of SAP or a similar system would be advantageous. 1 -2 years working in an NPD role would be advantageous but not essential. Personal Skills A desire to succeed. Able to meet timelines. Accurate recording of information Flexible / Adaptable Keen to learn New Skills Basic computer literacy Interested in Food UK Driving Licence Able to travel to customers / other sites if required.
