Procurement Lead – Permanent Position   Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience + Benefits   Location: Dundee   Based in Dundee, ZedTalent’s client is a group of businesses focused on delivering Global safety solutions. From its regional hubs located in the UK, UAE, US, Australia and Malaysia its technology-led products and services are engineered to protect people working in hazardous environments.   Typically, its products are found in; offshore and onshore oil and gas production facilities, shipping and other marine assets, chemical processing plants, distilleries and food production and processing factories, utilities and water treatment works.   Job description:   The Procurement Lead is responsible for the purchasing required to ensure the company benefits from the products and services needed to efficiently carry out the organisational tasks.  This includes the diligent co-ordination and tracking of internal purchase orders, following up with suppliers to ensure inbound shipments will be on time, researching new suppliers to meet the organisational needs and onboarding selected suppliers to ensure the company has access to products and services needed.  The Procurement Lead must stay up to date with the latest market trends and collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices.       Example Role Tasks and Responsibilities:   The Procurement Lead is responsible to perform all duties and assigned tasks in accordance with the companies’ policies, procedures and work instructions.   Specific tasks will include but are not limited to: Coordinate all procurement related queries, documentation, and registers Complete purchase orders within Business Central, ensuring the purchase orders are assigned to the correct business line within the company Ensure all purchase orders are within procurement budget guidelines and that the purchase orders are written to match the Supplier provided quotations Responsible for the vendor management within Business Central. When there is a vendor required who is not currently on the Approved Vendor’s list, the Procurement Lead will work with the Requestor and the Group Operations Manager and/or the HSEQ Manager, in line with the approved vendor process, to determine suitability Maintain the Approved Vendors List and advise management of trends and concerns, including following up with suppliers to obtain insurances and certificates prior to them expiring Monitor open purchase orders. On a weekly basis, work with the teams within the Group business lines to determine the status of open purchase orders, and action accordingly by either receipting the item, following up with the supplier to get an amended lead time or if the item is no longer required, cancel the purchase order Work with the HSEQ Manager to conduct Supplier Evaluations on a semi-annual basis Communicate with the Group Operations Manager if there is a major issue with a supplier.  Provide a solution to the situation, including the potential of needing to procure the respective products or services from an alternative supplier Follow up with suppliers to ensure the orders placed are on time (expediting) and if the planned receipt date has changed, update the purchase order to reflect the revised date Assist the Business lines with stock management as required, including assisting with physical stock checks when necessary    Skills / Experience Good working knowledge of procurement strategies Excellent written and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing and resource planning systems. Negotiation Skills Procurement and supply chain management qualification (desirable) A team player Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Proven work experience as a Procurement Lead or similar role (preferably 3-5 years purchasing experience) Experience within the Oil and Gas Industry   To apply please contact Laura Haig at ZedTalent ((url removed))
