What you’ll do

  • Responsible for maintaining control procedures of all stock items on the Balance Sheet such as Food, Beverage and Tobacco.
  • To record, reconcile and keep appropriate records of all the monthly purchases and issues of operating equipment.
  • To assist and supervise the periodic stocktaking.
  • To assist in ensuring the safeguarding of company assets.
  • To produce highly accurate cost and statistical information reports for management use.
  • To highlight and correct procedural irregularities in the recording, storage and handling of all stock items.
  • To maintain control & undertake the reconciliation of all Stock items held on the Balance sheet and produce accurate cost & statistical data for management use.
  • To work closely with the F&B Cost Controller in producing daily food flash reports and facilitating menu engineering etc. in line with departmental policies & procedures.
  • To audit products received in loading bay & to review prices on invoices received.
  • To highlight any variances to budgeted costs and provide advice for rapid corrective action to management.
  • To carry out monthly (F&B) stock control audit processes as dictated by the company’s policies and procedures.
  • To develop and maintain an efficient data storage system for all the information relating to the business.
  • To update, monitor and maintain all data on Adaco and Micros.
  • To highlight and correct any deficiencies in the operating procedures applied by the outlets.
  • To perform daily and weekly audit checks in the operational areas to ensure that no misappropriation or misuse of company’s assets is occurring.
  • To maintain an efficient use and distribution of financial information to business users.
  • To provide assistance to the management Accounting team in the performance of the month end reporting duties.
  • To be involved in the set-up of the databases and alignment of procedures for Coworth Park and 45 Park Lane.
  • To provide cover for other sections of the accounts team as and when required.
  • To part-take in projects and other business wide activities.
  • To monitor and highlight any deficiencies in the software capabilities of the point of sales systems to the IT department and external IT support teams.
  • To act as a team player & provide effective day to day communication & financial services for with managers & colleagues.
  • To participate in meetings and internal or external training courses.
  • Maintain a high team focus by showing cooperation & support to colleagues in the pursuit of team goals.
  • Provide guidance & advise internal stakeholders on F&B cost control topics.

What you’ll bring

Essential Skills & Experiences

  • HND in business and accounting or Hotel School education.
  • It is desirable that the person is studying towards the achievement of a professional accounting qualification; CIMA; ACCA; ACA; BAHA.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in another role within the accounts department of a similarly large organization.
  • Knowledge of operational practices within similar size establishment.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Core understanding of stock and cost control technique.

Preferred skills & Experiences

  • Basic understanding of Management and Financial Accounting techniques.
  • Knowledge of design and implementation of stock accounting control processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, targeted and concise management information reports.
