Position Overview: The Area Sales Manager – Hire and Construction is a crucial role within Makita UK. In this role, you will directly engage with assigned hire accounts and major end users within the construction sector. Your focus will be on promoting our extensive range of professional tools, accessories, and services, ensuring that we meet and exceed sales targets both in value and volume. You will be responsible for engaging with a wide range of sectors, including National Hire Accounts, construction, M&E, timber construction, demolition, house building, and more. What You’ll Be Doing: · Developing Strategy : Create and implement a strategy for consistent engagement with targeted clients across your assigned region. · Account Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key accounts. · Market Positioning: Strengthen our market position and support company strategies to ensure targets are met. · Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your targeted sectors. · Supply Chain Support: Work closely with the supply chain to ensure the ongoing success of targeted users and explore new growth opportunities. · Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of activities and provide timely feedback to your line manager. · Product Development: Contribute to the identification and introduction of new products to meet the evolving needs of the sector. · Training Delivery: Organize and deliver in-house and tailored training programs for your assigned accounts at our locations or on-site. · Collaborating with Sales Managers: Work closely with the Makita Area Sales Managers within your area to ensure transparency and alignment in sales activities. · Equipment Management: Be responsible for managing and scheduling demonstration equipment to maximize engagement opportunities. · Reporting & Analysis: Regularly report on activities, sales, market trends, and competitor activities using the systems provided. · Client Relationship Management: Ensure customer satisfaction and foster long-term client relationships through regular follow-ups. · Product Demonstrations: Conduct product demonstrations in real-world site environments to showcase our tools and services.
