Ringway are a leading supply chain partner to local authorities, delivering highway maintenance and improvement works, maintaining over 43,300km of the local highway network and nearly 600,000 street lights. Our contracts include highway, bridge, street lighting, transport technology and environmental asset and network management services together with routine and cyclical highway maintenance.

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Partner to join our team based out of our regional depots. This role will see you partnering with our colleagues to develop sustainable highways and transportation solutions that strengthen local communities.

Duties

  • Deliver a comprehensive, professional HR service aligned with company values across the client business.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with management to support business strategy and change initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues, including performance, absence, grievances, disciplinaries, and workplace mediation.
  • Support and advise on union matters, including negotiations and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Lead and drive Fairness, Inclusion & Respect (FIR) initiatives, setting KPIs and championing diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • Identify and implement value-adding HR initiatives aligned to business goals.
  • Contribute to senior management discussions, influencing people strategy and financial performance.
  • Manage change processes such as restructures, redundancies, and settlement agreements, while coaching and supporting managers.
  • Partner with the VINCI Academy to drive talent management, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Analyse employee engagement data to drive improvements in wellbeing, inclusion, and participation, and support performance culture.
  • Support bid and tender submissions by highlighting HR’s strategic contribution to business development.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by enabling managers to address underperformance effectively.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Extensive Employee Relations experience in dealing with complex ER issues and experience with employment tribunals and unions.
  • Experience of operating in a HR business partnering role in a multi-site, safety focused environment.
  • Experience of managing complex TUPE and redundancies.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in working with a client business that operates in a safety critical environment.
  • Experience of working at a strategic level in HR, preferably within the construction, or transportation industries.
  • Experience of leading EDI initiatives to drive real change within the business.
