What You Will Do
As a Senior Manager, Financial Controls, you will play a key role in establishing Klarna’s internal controls framework, ensuring compliance with ICFR/SOX regulations, and supporting business preparations for a potential future IPO. You will work within the LEAP IPO Internal Controls team to build a robust control environment that enables financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing Klarna’s ICFR/SOX framework, including methodology, tooling, and best practices for process and control mapping.
- Overseeing internal controls by defining and implementing key financial controls, conducting audits, testing effectiveness, and monitoring ongoing compliance.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with finance, IT, and legal teams to ensure alignment with compliance requirements and business objectives.
- Liaising with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Supporting internal certification processes, control sign-offs, and remediation of deficiencies.
- Providing training and guidance to internal stakeholders on financial controls and SOX requirements.
Who You Are
We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented financial controls professional with strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset. You should have:
- Experience in financial reporting and internal controls, with a strong focus on ICFR and SOX compliance.
- A qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Expertise in SOX/ICFR implementation, including process mapping, risk assessments, controls design, and deficiency remediation.
- Prior Big 4 experience (EY, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG) or similar roles in a corporate setting.
- Strong documentation skills, with the ability to record and communicate risks, processes, and controls to a high standard.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of explaining financial controls to senior stakeholders and non-finance professionals.

- Experience in IPO readiness and financial controls transformation projects.
- Familiarity with financial systems and automation tools for control testing and reporting.

At Klarna, our compensation package includes a base salary and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). To ensure fairness and maintain global market competitiveness, each role in a specific location has a set base salary. During the recruitment process, we will assess your skills and experience to determine which role is the best fit for you.
Our RSU program features a 4-year vesting schedule, allowing you to gradually become a shareholder in Klarna. Additionally, you may qualify for our Contribution-Based Reward (CBR) program, which recognizes and rewards significant contributions to our success.
