What You’ll Do
Within the Corporate Sustainability’s Environmental Management team, the Net-Zero Project Expert actively contributes to the success of SAP’s environmental sustainability strategy and performance. In this role, you steer and drive the execution of SAP’s Net-Zero program, all related targets, sub-projects and initiatives.
The role requires strong thought leadership skills to understand future environmental trends and needs for our customers, partners, and respective SAP business units. You collaborate closely with key C-Level stakeholders and executives to drive SAP-wide support for environmental standards, programs, processes, and tools.
Your Tasks Include The Following
- Drive SAP’s environmental transformation programs to ensure SAP meets its commitments outlined in the SAP Global Environmental Policy.
- Manage Net-Zero 2030 program, key initiatives, and work-streams with lines of business.
- Provide thought leadership for environmental focus areas, such as carbon and energy.
- Develop global roadmaps and investment cases for the implementation of nature-based solutions and technical removal technologies for SAP’s own operations.
- Act as a trusted thought leader and build deep trust relationship with internal stakeholders, partners, NGOs, and customers.
- Inspire senior leaders and executives from all internal lines of business to embed environmental actions in their day-to-day operations, initiatives, and leadership behaviours.
- Represent SAP internally and externally as a role model for environmental management.
What You Bring
- University degree in business administration, natural sciences, business informatics, or sustainability management.
- Very solid working experience with proven track record in consulting, project management, and customer advisory.
- Experience in complex program management with Executive Board visibility.
- Very good knowledge of environmental opportunities, challenges, and legal regulations and standards (e.g., EU Taxonomy / Sustainable Finance, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive / CSRD, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, SBTi).
- Ability to craft and communicate vision and strategy effectively to SAP teams, partners, and customers.
- Strong negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills with the ability to articulate and present to C-Level executives, as well as the ability to shape customer expectations.
- Strong leadership skills, intercultural sensitivity, and strength to influence without authority.
- Excellent and fluent English skills, both written and spoken; German skills would be beneficial.
