Role Objectives:
To support the Group Legal Counsel, Assistant Legal Counsel, internal stakeholders, and Group affiliates with subsidiaries in the UK, US, Ireland, and Portugal, with the expectation and view of growth in the future.
The Ideal Candidate
A Team Player, Communicative, A Problem Solver, Excellent Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences Industry Experience, Based in the UK or EU.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide support related to global data privacy and protection regulations, including GDPR, PECR, e-Privacy Directive, DPA 2018, and eventually the evolving EU AI Act;
- Provide support and assist in preparing GDPR-related documentation and ensuring interpretation of applicable laws and regulations, and application of company policies and procedures, with a focus on legal compliance;
- Assist and advise business stakeholders on data protection queries as well as conduct review of documents, presentations, and (draft) communications with third parties;
- Undertake legal support, including legal research and proofreading;
- Provide support in the development of privacy policies, standards, and procedures for privacy programs;
- Support and assist the DPO in the review of incident reports to identify, investigate and mitigate any potential privacy incidents;
- Participate in new projects as and when required.
What You’ll Need:
- Experienced paralegal with a degree in law or equivalent experience;
- Experience in the pharmaceuticals/life sciences sector;
- Minimum of 2 years’ commercial in-house experience;
- Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in data privacy, data security, and privacy principles;
- Demonstrated knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, PECR, DPA 2018;
- Basic knowledge of the EU AI Act would be beneficial;
- Extensive and prior Data Privacy/GDPR drafting experience;
- Meticulous attention to detail;
- A proven track record of leading planning processes with excellent organisational and collaboration skills;
- Collegiate, professional approach and an ability to work as part of a team or independently as required;
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and concise information to a variety of stakeholders;
- Willingness to learn and develop expertise in AI and data privacy, specifically in relation to the pharmaceutical sector;
- Fluency in written and verbal commercial English is a must;
- Fluency in another language or experience of having responsibility for contractual or legal matters in another country would be a bonus.
