About the role
We are looking to hire a skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team in London, reporting to the Group General Counsel.
In this role you will get the chance to join us on our exciting growth journey, by being responsible for legal transactions and projects, and support our Group structure by advancing its commercial agenda and facilitating the effective implementation of business priorities whilst being mindful of protecting the Group.
What you will be doing
As the Banking Circle Group (“Group”) expands and increases in complexity, the overall aim of this role is to build further Group coherence and mature our ability to share assets, capabilities and ways of working.
As such, responsibilities include:
- Taking the legal lead on strategic Group initiatives including M&A opportunities and investments, financing, complex structuring, funding and Group corporate set-up and shareholding initiatives.
- Liaising on, advising on and reviewing and negotiating significant contracts for Group initiatives including our leadership team, the CEO office, and other key stakeholders.
- Taking legal responsibilities on cross-Group efforts working together with senior stakeholders across the Group including CEOs, CFOs and Legal departments within the Group’s distinct businesses.
- Developing internal procedures and a Group reporting framework.
- Handling of complaints, disputes and litigation cases.
- Fostering cross-Group collaboration.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate for this position is a lawyer whose profile demonstrates the ability to successfully lead complex legal tasks from beginning to end and with experience dealing with multi-jurisdictional matters. Experience in private M&A investments and/or listing processes in the US or Europe would be an asset. We expect you to have completed a post-graduate degree and to have a minimum of at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience from a law firm or an in-house role.

Since the Banking Circle Group is a group of international companies it is a requirement that you are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
