Your new role:

As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in the procurement of various commodities and services, including IT systems, infrastructure, construction projects, and marketing campaigns. You will manage the end-to-end procurement process, from planning and sourcing to contract management and supplier performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective procurement and contract management across multiple categories.
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies with a focus on sustainability.
  • Leading evaluation sessions, negotiating with suppliers, and presenting outcomes clearly.
  • Managing the contract database and e-Sourcing tools.
  • Providing advice and guidance on procurement policies and procedures.
  • Researching market data to estimate and negotiate prices and innovations.

What you need to succeed:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a procurement role with experience of running tenders end to end - must be at least c£1m in terms of scope.
  • Open to a diverse range of category experience due to the nature of the role, including, but not exclusively, Construction, Infrastructure, IT and Marketing.
  • CIPS qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to work methodically and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to coordinate multidisciplined teams and deliver projects on time.
