Job Description

Stress Engineer – KDC

KDC require an experienced static analysis and FEM engineer to join our team in Bristol on an Outside IR35 contract. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will be required to work as an individual or part of a wider team to deliver analysis based projects to schedule and in line with our Quality standards and procedures.

Typical tasking will include:

  • Structural analysis of aircraft structures using classical hand calcs, FEM and customer specific toolsets.
  • FEM modelling – build and verification
  • Loads generation
  • Report writing and documentation
  • Self and peer checking.
  • Reporting status and support to customer reviews.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or similar, or demonstrable relevant experience in lieu thereof
  • Knowledge and experience of analysis of light weight structures
  • Advanced level FE Analysis with industry standard software – MSC Patran/Nastran, Altair Hypermesh etc.
  • MS office in particular MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Technical writing

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Airbus toolsets
  • Team or technical lead experience
  • Current or previous holder of Check or Delegated Approval.

Essential Personal Qualities:

  • An accomplished aerostructures analysis engineer with an organised structured approach to problem solving and task completion. Capable of working on your own or within a team of engineers, you will be expected to complete your allocated work on time and within budget. You will be experienced; enthusiastic; accountable and reliable.
