The Role
The Aircraft Duty Engineer (Licensed) is responsible for preparing, coordinating and monitoring aircraft production at a shift level. The successful candidate will be based in the area production office and they will work with other Duty Engineers to allocate work to the shift team, monitor progress, and plan ahead for the following team coming on duty. The candidate will also be expected to use B and C Categories on their CAA licence to support certification and base maintenance release to service.
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Engineering Base Maintenance team at Heathrow and support the exceptional delivery of aircraft to our customers.
It is divided into two main areas; Resource and Technical management, providing leadership to our Engineers.
Resource Management
- Deliver the operation to defined production targets ensuring alignment to the maintenance plan and aircraft compliance
- Provide effective leadership of maintenance colleagues, setting and managing clear expectations to deliver the operation on the day
- Allocate tasks as required by the maintenance plan
- Champion high-quality standards, monitor trends, and oversee continuous improvement in order to define and implement permanent solutions
- Ensure communication of aircraft in work status, and oversee requirements between Planning and Production departments
- You will be the point of contact for all Engineers, flight crew and planning
Technical expertise
- Provide technical support as first point of contact for operational colleagues
- Provide technical feedback to business stakeholders as appropriate, including Technical specialists and Planning
- Support engineers with complex technical issues, understanding technical documents and new technologies
- This is a front line role and you will be actively engaging with the engineers rectifying the defects

You will need
- Aircraft maintenance CAA Part-66 B licence holder with demonstrable experience of certifying in an aircraft maintenance environment
- We will accept applicants with any commercial type ratings (BA Type specific training is available)
- Current BA type rating desirable
