Product Safety Engineer x 2 – Contract Opportunity – Maritime

Are you a competent safety professional with the expertise to influence product safety strategies and drive risk management in complex systems? We are seeking a Product Safety Engineers to take ownership of safety assessments, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with key industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate the implementation of Product Safety processes and support the production of deliverables.
2. Maintain and update the SMARTer Hazard Log, performing necessary updates and generating reports.
3. Provide support for hazard, risk, and mitigation management, ensuring high-quality safety case arguments.
4. Conduct safety assessments on major subsystems and complex technologies.
5. Organise and lead HAZID workshops and review meetings to enhance safety outcomes.
6. Work with Technical Authorities and Safety Engineers to collate product safety evidence for safety case approvals.
7. Generate monthly statistical reports on hazard log contents and safety performance.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Execution of Product Safety techniques and assessments.
2. Development of Product Safety Management Plans (PSMPs) and associated safety artifacts.
3. Organisation and documentation of workshops, safety meetings, and stakeholder reviews.
4. Verification of hazard log submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
5. Monthly reporting of safety metrics and risk status.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

1. Strong knowledge of safety management processes and techniques.
2. Experience working across multiple phases of the Life Cycle Management (LCM) framework.
3. Awareness of key safety standards, including:

1. DSA-02
2. JSP430
3. Def Stan 00-56
4. Mil-Std 882E
5. BS EN 61508
