Our client, a leading manufacturing client based in Newcastle, are looking to recruit a Wiring Harness and Loom Assembly Technician to join the business on a permanent basis due to business growth.
The successful candidates will be responsible for production of Wiring Harnesses and Looms to specification following build instructions, wiring schedules and drawings.
Candidates will ideally be time served in an Electrical discipline with demonstrable experience in reading Electrical Schematics, panel wiring, soldering, crimping and terminating cabling.
You will also be trained to IPC 620 Standards or equivilant with strong soldering skills for both wiring and PCB Manufacture. Experience using a broad range of connects is also a must.
Candidates not qualified with a clear history in similar work will be considered
Hours
Monday Thursday 6:30am to 3:00pm / Friday 6:30am 12:00pm
Any OT worked over 37.5 hours per week are paid at premium rates to boost earnings
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture Wires, cables, Harnesses and Wiring Looms using manual tools and automatic machines by following correct build instructions, wiring schedules & drawings
- Maintain quality standards within the build
- Support Electrical Technician with Panel wiring of small accurate components under supervision where required.
- Work to allocated tasks in line with the Production MPS
- Be involved in and instigate Continuous improvement activities.
- Manage and complete daily maintenance on wire manufacturing machines
- Aid Manufacturing Engineering in the creation of wiring schedules from existing product
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ideally Time Served in an electrical discipline
- Trained to IPC 620Standard
- Strong soldering skills
- Strong IT Skills and experience in operating machinery in electrical component production
- Strong technical skills in crimping/ terminating cables.
- Must be able to read and interpret build instructions, wiring schedules and drawings
