Warehouse Stock Controller Kempston, Bedford £26,000 per annum Permanent position Job Description: A metal stockholding business based near Bedford are currently looking for an experienced Warehouse Stock Controller to join their busy team in a permanent position. The successful candidate will perform a key role in carrying out efficient warehouse operations and ensuring effective stock management is maintained. Warehouse Stock Controller responsibilities: * Booking in Goods: Responsible for the accurate systematic booking in and recording of incoming goods using computer system * Forklift Counterbalance Operation: Safely operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck efficiently moving and organising materials within racking system * Stock Control: Monitoring and managing stock levels, ensuring that all inventory is readily available and accurately accounted for as required * Delivery driving: Carrying out occasional deliveries to customer sites using company flat-bed van * Materials processing: Using a tape to accurately measure metal stock and cut to required length using the bandsaw (training provided) * Making wooden packaging crates and pallets: Using nail guns, saws and screwdrivers etc. to make basic crates and pallets to load customer orders onto / into Experience required: * Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment within a manufacturing / processing environment is preferred but not essential * Familiarity with using a computerised stock control system is advantageous * A valid (or recently expired) Counterbalance Forklift licence along with the experience of operating a Forklift confidently and safely is required * Full (manual) UK Driving Licence is needed * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team * Excellent communication skills are requested Additional details: * Salary of £26,000 per annum (equivalent to £13.50 per hour) * Opportunities for career advancement and professional development * Free parking is available on site * Company Pension * Working in a clean, bright and modern facility * Varying duties means an interesting position utilising many different skills and experience * A key role with a friendly and supportive team If you possess a proactive approach to your work, motivation to carry out an effective role within a friendly and supportive team environment then please apply with your up to date CV
