As Building Services Manager you will manage the production of outsourced design and direct the design and installation of services and associated builders work to meet project targets of time, cost, and quality. You will manage the Mechanical and Electrical Services Consultants and Sub Contractors throughout the design, installation, and testing commissioning of the services installation. The role is for experienced M & E Managers’ who have the capability to take on greater responsibility. It can also be developmental role towards a Senior M&E Manager position.

  • Be responsible for attaining the highest H&S standards on site. Lead the site team by example and develop a positive H&S culture. To be measured monthly on H&S performance.

  • To review the safety and quality plan and ensure it meets the highest standards ensuring compliance with the GT business management system (BMS) and health, safety and environmental (SHE) standards.

  • Manage and develop the H&S plan (construction phase) specific to each project in conjunction with the planning supervisor and project manager. Then manage and develop the plan during the construction phase and be measured on performance.

  • Manage all discipline sub-contractors to produce a detailed contract programme for their respective works relating to the overall contract programme.

  • Ensure all discipline sub-contractors produce a weekly return of labour, plant and materials.

  • Develop a "Best Quality" culture with sub-contractors. Set high standards with regard workmanship. Accept only the best quality and reject inferior workmanship ensuring compliance with the GT BMS quality procedures.

  • Qualification in a recognised Building Services Subject to HNC / Degree Level.

  • Previous experience of working with a Main Contractors in a Building Services Role would be an advantage.

  • Full working knowledge of aspects and law, including The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and CDM 2015.

  • Basic sub-contract processes – contract and commercialBasic appreciation and use knowledge of project management – programming, cash flow analysis, resource planning etc.
