The predicted salary is between 40000 - 49000 £ per year.
The primary function of this role is the efficient day to day running of the flexographic printing press, ensuring that it is fully utilised producing printed paper to the highest standard to support straw production. The role and associated training will involve:
- Determines correct inks and printing plates according to job specifications.
- Mounts printing plates onto correct sized cylinders and loads cylinders into press according to the correct colour sequence.
- Fills ink fonts with prescribed inks according to correct colour sequence.
- Moves levers to engage ink rollers, adjusting position of ink rollers to print one or more colours without defect.
- Loads plain reels as prescribed by job specifications and unloads printed reels.
- Verifies quality and accuracy of print, then runs press at optimum speed while controlling tensions and maintaining acceptable print quality.
- Cleans plates, cylinders, and ink fonts as necessary, and especially at the end of a print run to avoid contamination of subsequent print runs.
- Mixes inks to achieve desired colours. Monitors and maintains correct solvent/ink ratio to achieve optimum printability of inks.
- Regularly checks printed samples for colour consistency and print quality and monitors print quality during the run to provide acceptable product without defects.
- Maintains high standard of housekeeping around the press, and accurately completes production and quality records.

Salary: £33k plus 35% shift allowance - £44,550
