Description
As a Web Development Support Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our websites, helping to ensure smooth daily operations and supporting web updates and requests. While this role is focused on web development support, it offers an exciting opportunity for growth into a more technical development position as the team evolves. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of web development fundamentals, be proactive in resolving issues, and possess a friendly, team-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-Day Web Maintenance: Handle routine web tasks like user account deletions, password resets, product registrations, and updating content (links, copy, images, videos) across our websites.
- CMS & Admin Support: Manage content updates using platforms like Magento 2 Admin, PIMCore Admin, Shopify Admin, and builder.io, ensuring sites stay current and user-friendly.
- File Management: Utilize AWS S3 and CloudFront for FTP transfers and file management, ensuring the smooth flow of assets to and from the CDN.
- Page Creation & Updates: Build new web pages from scratch or update existing ones using tools like React, Gatsby, and Expression Engine, ensuring they align with branding and functionality goals.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Address and resolve web-related issues as they arise, collaborating with the development team for more complex solutions.
- Project Management & Communication: Use Trello, Jira, and Confluence to track tasks, communicate updates, and collaborate with the team on ongoing web projects.
- Version Control & Code Collaboration: Manage and collaborate on code using Git and GitLab, ensuring proper version control and a smooth development process.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Web Development Fundamentals: Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, React, and Gatsby for front-end development.
- CMS & Admin Knowledge: Experience working with Magento 2 Admin, PIMCore Admin, Shopify Admin, and builder.io to manage content and updates.
- Cloud & File Management: Comfortable using AWS S3, CloudFront, and FTP protocols to manage website files and assets.
- Project Management Tools: Experience with Trello, Jira, and Confluence for task tracking and project collaboration.
- Version Control Tools: Proficient with Git and GitLab for managing code repositories and collaborative development.
