Leading Energy Organisation – Procurement Transformation – South Yorkshire, Manchester or Surrey
Following a period of sustained growth, this Energy major is undertaking an exciting restructure and transformation of their procurement function.
With a plan to modernise and move towards best-in-class, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement leader looking for a chance to put their own stamp on a procurement function.
Reporting into the Procurement Director, you will lead a team of 3 managing significant engineering services and engineering sourcing projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business partners to develop and imbed procurement category strategy across operations & engineering services.
- As part of the journey towards best-in-class, spot opportunities to drive change and challenge the status quo, bringing new ideas to the team.
- Keep a keen eye on the wider market, looking at opportunities for innovation, new products, and pricing changes, identifying opportunities to enact positive impact on the procurement function.
- Identify risk mitigation associated with sourcing activities to ensure compliance.
- Lead a team of procurement managers/buyers, ensuring effective communication and delegation of responsibilities. The Senior Procurement Manager will be looked at to develop, motivate, and inspire the team to effectively deliver on projects and engage wider business stakeholders.
Required Experience:
- Significant procurement experience with a matrix organisation required.
- Highly adept in contract management & negotiations.
- A proven track record of building relationships with a complex/changing organisation.
- Experience within engineering procurement or relevant projects.
- Experience within a relevant industry such as Oil & Gas, Engineering, or Manufacturing is ideal.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of enacting innovation/change within a procurement function.
- Degree Education with MCIPS ideal.
