Cogent Staffing are recruiting for a Landscape Labourer for our client based in Ashton-under-Lyne, as well as potentially from other depots in Rochdale and Trafford Park. The ideal candidate must have their own transport for travel across Manchester, with previous landscaping/construction experience, specifically fencing.
Any successful applicants will be subject to a basic DBS check.
Shifts & salary:
- Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours a week
- Flexibility with hours outside of normal office hours, with flexi time.
- 12.75 an hour starting.
Key responsibilities:
- Undertaking landscaping related tasks, including fencing and ground preparation at social housing providers.
- Dig and prepare soil for planting, ensuring optimal conditions for growth.
- Perform groundskeeping duties such as mowing, trimming, and weeding.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Handling tasks for drainage, kerbs, paths, flagging, concrete mixing.
- Following health and safety standards and risk assessment instructions.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Provide a helpful and friendly face to any tenants.
Key requirements:
- Previous experience in landscaping or groundwork or a related field is essential.
- Fencing experience is essential.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools commonly used in landscaping.
- A full UK driving licence and own transport is essential.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance is beneficial.
- Experience with groundwork and fencing tasks; laying flags, mixing concrete, erecting fencing.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions are essential traits for success in this role.
- Any construction qualification, a CSCS card, or any machinery operation licences all beneficial.
