People Manager for Overseas Team Members

As an Overseas Team People Manager within the Audit team, you will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment for our Overseas Team Members (OTMs) by supporting them in their development, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and championing a culture of inclusion. Through your regular interactions with our OTMs you will play a pivotal role in ensuring they have the resources and guidance to excel in their role and to effectively contribute to the success of the practice.
A look into the role
In your role as an overseas team people manager, you will be responsible for providing both support and challenge to OTMs to enable them to be their best. This includes:
- Working closely and holding regular conversations with OTMs to understand workload, pressures, wellbeing, and feedback.
- Proactively managing issues and escalating them where appropriate to ensure timely resolution e.g., performance concerns.
- Developing and maintaining effective communication channels with OTMs and other key stakeholders including UK job managers and local people managers (based overseas).
- Championing an inclusive work culture where diversity is celebrated.
- Maintaining appropriate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Travel within the UK will be required to establish relationships with UK job managers across the practice. There may also be occasional travel to India and/or the Philippines.
You will work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including UK job managers, the Central Talent and Capacity Team (CTCT), People Advisory, local people managers (based overseas), and OTM project leads. These strategic collaborations are essential for facilitating joint efforts to address challenges and create positive change.
Given the importance of this role, there will be opportunities for the right person to expand their knowledge and develop their skillset including commercial awareness and contributing to people projects.

- Experience of managing multiple people in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of supporting, challenging and coaching others to help them reach their full potential.
- Experience of communicating with a range of stakeholders and managing difficult conversations.
- Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Confident in using Microsoft packages.
- Passionate about creating the best possible experience for our OTMs.
It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way:
- You’ll have experience in supporting office or firm-wide projects or initiatives.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience of working with colleagues based overseas.
- Experience of working in audit or in a professional services firm.
