Support Worker (SEN) ASAP Start £81.75 – £85.02 a day, paid weekly Monday – Friday | (phone number removed)pm | Term time only A Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Worker plays a crucial role in assisting children or young adults with special educational needs and disabilities in their educational and social development. Job Summary: To provide support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and enhance their overall learning experience. This role involves working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the well-being and progress of the student. Key Responsibilities: * Individual Support: Assist students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to facilitate their learning and development. * Educational Assistance: Help students with tasks, assignments, and activities tailored to their specific needs, ensuring they understand the material. * Behavior Management: Implement strategies to manage challenging behavior and promote positive interactions among students. * Communication: Support students in developing communication skills, using appropriate tools and techniques as necessary. * Monitoring Progress: Observe and record students’ progress, sharing insights with teachers and parents to inform individualized education plans (IEPs). * Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment. * Personal Care: Provide assistance with personal care tasks if needed, such as mobility, hygiene, and feeding. * Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times, following school policies and procedures. * Training: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role. Qualifications: * Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs (preferred). * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
