JOB MISSION:
The successful candidate will be the finance business partner for the UK and Ireland wholesale business, working closely with senior leaders across the UK and EMEA.
The individual will have responsibility for accurate and timely financial reporting across the full P&L, playing a key role in providing commercial guidance to business leads. This role is pivotal in driving channel growth and profitability, across both local and global strategic key accounts.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Commercial Finance Support
- The finance lead on the quarterly business review to EMEA Senior Leadership. Responsibilities include preparation, presentation and commentary on the financial results.
- To work with stakeholders to drive margin and profitability. Key focus areas include customer segmentation, clearance deals, discount structure and marketing.
- Commercial support on orderbook conversion and risk reduction through analysis of orderbook profile, sell through and credit limits.
- Provide best in class management information through variance and KPI analysis, driving commercial decisions and delivering insights into trends and root causes.
- Close collaboration with Global and EMEA Finance leads, ensuring knowledge sharing and alignment on best practice.
- Finance business partner for the pricing team, ensuring EMEA price alignment by factoring in currencies and local sales taxes.
Budget, Forecast and Financial Planning
- Overall responsibility for the UK and Ireland Wholesale budget, forecast and planning process, with direct ownership of the global strategic key accounts.
- Review and challenge of assumptions, allowing for alignment with regional guidance, whilst ensuring targets drive ownership and are a catalyst for improvement.
- Build and maintain financial models, templates and forecast tools to aid the business planning process.
- Work closely with the UK and EMEA Senior leadership team on both short and long-term scenario planning.
Month End and Financial Reporting
- Ownership of the month end process for UK and Ireland Wholesale, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with local accounting standards and on time submission.
- Responsible for review of the month end balance sheet reconciliations and primary contact for audit queries relating to the channel.
Other
- Management and development of two direct reports.
- To create a supportive, high commitment work environment which motivates and encourages the team to achieve through empowerment and development.
- Support in building positive relationships with the UK and Ireland Wholesale commercial team.
- Assist the EMEA Management, Commercial and Financial Information Systems team as necessary on ad hoc requirements and new projects.
- Work alongside the Regional and Global Financial Information Systems teams on ERP and EPM systems implementations.
- Seek to find opportunities within BI tools to automate and standardise reporting.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- Relevant number of years experience post qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or accounting equivalent).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial modelling and forecasting.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex financial data and provide insights and recommendations based on findings.
- High degree of accuracy and an eye for detail.
- Motivated with pro-active approach focussed on continual improvement of processes and reporting.
- Great teammate, strong interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain strong relationships with finance colleagues and across other departments.
- Organised, structured, able to manage priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft D365 and Oracle is desirable.
