The Role
The role requires a high standard of technical service delivery to clients, ensuring accurate and timely advice in line with client requirements. This position is open to individuals across several disciplines and backgrounds such as Corporate Tax, Private client/Personal Tax, Financial Services Tax; experience in other disciplines of tax will be considered also. The role will sit within the Financial Reporting & Tax team and will have oversight of the managerial duties being undertaken by the Tax Accounting Manager associated with the relevant teams/functions.
- Responsibility and oversight of a team, ensuring all tasks are documented and completed and deadlines adhered to.
- Provide technical advice on complex issues within the team.
- Support the Head of Department in ensuring that correct processes and controls are in place and fit for purpose.
- Support the Head of Department in the implementation of group wide projects and initiatives.
- Work with the Head of Department to review business initiatives, policies, and products from an operational perspective to ensure that they are fully supportable.
- Contribute to the change management programme relevant to your area and actively manage the development and delivery of change to operational and systems infrastructure.
- Review the risk and controls matrix in line with group policy and implement any required changes in the team.

Experience
The role requires strong tax knowledge and experience, but the firm are willing to consider individuals from several tax backgrounds such as corporate tax, private client/personal tax, and other tax disciplines. The below criteria would be advantageous but can be flexed on should candidates be able to demonstrate a strong tax knowledge and business acumen.
- Professional accounting and/or tax qualification e.g., ACCA, CTA or equivalent.
- Significant tax experience gained within a professional services environment, an outsourced provider, or an accounting firm.
- Demonstrable and practical knowledge of a tax regulatory environment.
- Experience of managing a team and its individual members, including delivering effective appraisals, performance management, etc.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, in particular Word and Excel.
