Lead Engineer
OakNorth is a profitable business that has supported the growth of thousands of entrepreneurs with a new standard of business lending.
We are looking for people to lead our engineering teams in building upon this success, as we grow to play a key part in redefining the future of business banking with next generation financial tools and products.
As a Lead Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of technical excellence, keeping processes lean and efficient, and helping team members grow and develop their career.
Team Mission
- Enhancing customer visibility and creating a connected experience across product lines (Lending, Personal Savings, and Business Banking).
- Leverage cross-product customer data to drive engagement, cross-sell products, and strengthen customer relationships.
The role
- Lead a squad of 2-3 Engineers.
- Have a strong technical background, including 5+ years of experience designing and engineering large-scale systems.
- Responsible for technical delivery and ensuring the squad understands and focuses on the goal.
- Design resilient and scalable solutions across business units by leveraging customer data to create, integrate, and scale data models across platforms such as CRM, CCM (Customer Communication Management), CMS, and other distributed systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, Product Managers, and CRM experts to produce design documentation that ensures alignment with business objectives and delivers a seamless, connected customer experience.
- Coach and mentor engineers so that they are improving and engaged.
- Measure your success in terms of business impact, not lines of code.
- Internalise the best ideas from across the organisation, humbly setting a vision that others can get behind.
