Role Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Manager) to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple projects, providing support to operational teams and contributing to the continued success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Maximise valuations, ensuring timely certification and payment.
- Support the CVR reporting process.
- Manage contract variations promptly and efficiently.
- Forecast costs and values across all trades.
- Work closely with the operational team to secure labour, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor on-site progress and issue necessary notices in line with contractual procedures and timescales.
- Review quotations for compliance with specifications, ensuring the most competitive bids are obtained.
- Prepare Final Accounts.
- Accurately manage subcontractor accounts to optimise contract efficiency.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying.
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
- Experience working on highways and infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience using key cost-based software packages.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel as required.
